1. What is S.A.S.A. and is there anything else like it?
S.A.S.A. stands for South Asian Students' Alliance- the national body that amalgamates ALL South Asian student organizations throughout the continent. S.A.S.A. has been in existence for over 19 years, and every year puts together an annual conference for students from all over to meet, network, learn, and be entertained.

While there are various South Asian events that happen locally every week, nothing brings together as many people from different cities and as many number of people that S.A.S.A. does - and S.A.S.A. only happens once a year!

Finally, be wary of imitators. There is only one S.A.S.A..
  2. Why do I need to register for S.A.S.A.? Can't I just show up at the door?
This year, it is mandatory that you Register if you would like to attend any S.A.S.A. event (with the exception of the Culture Show). This includes sessions, any activities happening at the Official Hotel, and also the After-Parties. We will not be selling ANY tickets at the door for any After-Party- if you are not an Official S.A.S.A. Registrant- you will not get in. Due to the fact that Miami will be a very popular destination for attendees- we will simply not have any capacity to sell tickets at the door. So tell your friends/family- NO REGISTRATION=NO PARTIES!
  3. What's included in the price of registration?
    INCLUDED IN REGISTRATION:
    • Key Note Address with High Profile Speaker
    • All Sessions and Workshops
    • Welcome Reception by the Pool on Thursday
    • Shuttles to and from All S.A.S.A. Venues (provided you stay at the Hotel)
    • Annual Culture Show Competition
    • Happy Hour Pool Deck on Friday
    • SASA Palooza by the Pool on Saturday
    • Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Night Parties

    More to come...

  4. How do I register?
Registration can easily be completed online by clicking on the registration tab. Our secure server will allow you to safely use your credit card to purchase registration. We do send automatic confirmations, but depending on the email account you use, you may not receive it. If you don't you can always log back in to confirm your own registration, as we do not send duplicates.
  5. What are the age requirements?
Anyone can Register for S.A.S.A. and attend the sessions and extra curricular activities, but you must be at least 18 to enter into the after-party venues, and 21+ to consume alcohol, according to FL State law.
  6. Do we need to stay at the hotel?
Yes. If you do not stay at the Official Hotel - the Deauville Beach Resort, you will not be allowed access to Shuttle Transportation to and from all S.A.S.A. venues. Furthermore, those not staying at the Official Hotel who would like to use any facilities, etc- will NOT be allowed to do so, and will be asked to leave.
  7. How do we get to and from the Airport and Hotel?
Just as previous years', it is the individuals' responsibility to make their way to and from the Airport(s) and the Hotel. We have arranged a discount with Super Shuttle so please refer the Travel page under local transportation for all details.
  8. Is S.A.S.A providing transportation to venues?
S.A.S.A. will be providing Shuttle Transportation to and from all S.A.S.A venues and the Deauville Beach Resort. Cabs in Miami could be very costly, so we advise all to stay at the Official Hotel and make use of the Shuttle Transportation provided by S.A.S.A..
  9. What if I lose my wristband?
If you lose, break, or misplace your wristband- you will have to Register again. Please do not tamper with, or take off your wristband. There will be no exceptions.
